Book Your Kona Beach Family Photo Session
It is easy to book a photo session here in Kona with Wilde Sparrow Photography. We recommend reaching out at least 1-2 months in advance, and the earlier the better! And if you have your heart set on a specific date, 3-4 months in advance is even better. If you are a super planner (like me!) – we open our books up 12 months in advance. The furthest out you can get on our calendars is one year.
Getting a Permit for Your Kona Beach Family Photo Session
As a client, first of all – you don’t have to worry a bit about permits! Our team handles all of this for you. 😊
In Hawaii, you need a permit to legally do commercial work on the beaches. Commercial work means being paid for photography. Without a permit, you’re looking at big fines and the very real and very embarrassing scenario of getting asked to leave a location in the middle of a shoot with paying clients if you can’t show your permit. YIKES.
This is why I only do photo sessions at locations that are permitted. I include the cost of the permit in session fees and our team handles acquiring all necessary permits for each session. You can read about the Hawaii Wiki Permits system here: https://wikipermits.ehawaii.gov/permits/welcome.html
If you have any questions about permits, please feel free to ask me! I don’t know everything and I’m not the expert on this, but I have been pulling permits for over 5 years so I can at the very least point you in the right direction!
