I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Big Island is a great place for a big family reunion. And if you’re looking for where to stay, I strongly recommend any of the resorts or rental houses in Waikoloa. Some of the bigger ones (Kingsland condos) have washer/dryers and kitchens which I know are a must when you’ve got a big group together for many days and lots of kids getting clothes sandy and dirty on all of their island exploring adventures.
I love working with big families. I have many photographer friends who won’t shoot them anymore because, let’s be real, they can be stressful. So many little family groups, so many important pictures to capture and, of course, so many personalities! I have been surprised by how much I enjoy these sessions. I think its because I have always loved a good challenge. It keeps my brain sharp, and tough situations get my creativity flowing like nothing else! I really thrive in these sessions so bring me ALL of your big families coming to Hawaii together!
My goal at these large family sessions is to get all of the important group pictures that are important to you and then some extras of everyone enjoying and experiencing Hawaii together. In a lot of ways, the island is that extra person at your shoot and it is important of me to capture the beauty of this place as well as your family. So get your group together and make your way over to the Big Island! Less crowded (and expensive!) than Maui or Oahu. PLUS we’ve got big space, big beaches and big aloha!
Are you planning a family vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii? Let me capture your family visit to Hawaii with a stunning sunrise or sunset photo session on one of the beautiful beaches in on the island. I’d love to capture memories you’ll cherish forever!
