By the end of my pregnancy, I had become one with the couch. Maybe it was the new pandemic we had all been plunged into – or maybe it was the sciatic nerve pain and giant baby pushing up on my ribs making it hard to breathe. Maybe it was all three. Either way, the last thing I wanted to be done was Hawaii maternity photos. I didn’t want to even see a camera!
At 32 weeks pregnant that my husband dragged me out of the house, made me throw on a dress, grabbed my camera. He captured what are now some of our most cherished photos.
If you are planning a Hawaii babymoon, the best time to do so is before you melt into a couch for the last few weeks of pregnancy! Before the back pain and breathing pain. When you’re still comfortable, glowing, and feeling like the gorgeous mama you are! To get specific – weeks 24-30 are best (make sure it’s okay with your doctor to travel first).
You can include your family in your Hawaii maternity photos! A baby is changing so many lives that it makes perfect sense to celebrate and document everyone you love while also documenting your pregnancy. That’s exactly with Lina choose to do with her babymoon photo session, and the images with her family are some of my absolute favorites.
“I was able to book Wilde Sparrow Photography/Aislinn two months ahead because I knew the pandemic situation in HI would impact me and would miss the opportunity to work with this talented photographer. From my initial inquiry and questions – beach location on where to shoot, florist recommendations for my haku, things to see and do on the big island, and including a family session into my maternity shoot – Aislinn was able to accommodate me with those requests. She even recommended really good places to eat on the island. My overall experience was warm, friendly professional and COVID safe/responsible. Our photo session received huge remarks from my in-laws, especially my FIL, who enjoyed the experience the most bc it was family time for him.
We love our photos! They are absolutely beautiful and we have them for memories too! Mahalo Aislinn for being our photographer during our visit to the Big Island (during the pandemic). :)”
