Did you know you need a commercial permit to photograph any commercial work on the beaches in Hawaii?
YUP! If you are photographing anyone or anything in exchange for money, a permit is required. If you are a photographer looking to navigate the permit system here and need some help, let me know and I’d be happy to point you in the right direction!
And if you’re a client – know that my location options for your session are only places where I am able to get a permit. I know there are some photographers who will go to locations that are not permitted, but I’m not one of them. It’s not worth it to me to get escorted off of a beach or fined! There are enough gorgeous permitted beaches for you to choose from that we can leave the unpermitted spots alone. That’s just a part of respecting our island home 🙂
