One of the best parts of living in Hawaii (other than everything!) is that our friends get to come to visit us during their honeymoons! Kira is one of my best friends, and we had known each other since wayyyyyy back in 2006 when we both lived in New York City. NYC is not an easy place to live and friends matter. Kira is one of the good ones.
The crazy thing is we only really lived in NYC together for a year or two, but that was enough to seal our friendship for life. When I moved to Seattle with my sister a few years later (without a plan or apartment, eek!) Kira let us crash on her couch for a week until we found a place to live. She was so generous and kind – helping us get to know Seattle and even though I did not end up staying in Seattle for long, my time there was better knowing I had a friend who lived here.
Fast forward almost 10-years later (OMG), and Matt and I were so freaking thrilled host Kira and her husband Edgar on their belated honeymoon to the Big Island. It was one of those where you see a friend you haven’t seen in years, and it’s like no time at all has even passed. Don’t you just love that?! They rented a jeep and spent most of their days exploring the island, but we made time for this photo shoot and a pretty fancy dinner on their last night here to celebrate friendship, marriage and the good life. Cheers!
