Being able to watch my friends grow into moms has been such a gift. Christina and I have been friends since High School. We’re going on almost 20 years of knowing each other and sometimes it feels like it was just a few months ago that we were walking through campus, cram studying for AP tests and dreaming about college. She is now a wonderful mother of two and one of the strongest women I know.
I flew to Oahu to capture the last few weeks of her second pregnancy. This night was windy and downright chilly (for Hawaii standards!) but Christina and little Emalia braved it like the strong women they are. It’s hard to find an empty beach on Oahu … unless you grew up there like we did. I had a hunch this spot would be nearly empty for us and I’m glad I followed my gut. It pays to get away from Waikiki for a shoot. Not only is this part of the island extremely beautiful, but we had ample space for this session and for these girls to roam and play and truly enjoy themselves!
