The best part about this session is how willing these two were to hop into the ocean. Sometimes, you truly have to forget about the dress, your hair, and getting wet – let it all go and jump in! Sunset or Sunrise Photos?
There are two ideal times for photo sessions in Hawaii. We limit our sessions to sunrise and sunset because this is when the light is most flattering and, frankly, its not as hot! Sure we could take photos any time of day, but we try to avoid harsh shadows, sweaty faces, and unflattering light at all costs. Sunset and sunrise are perfect. Not me. So we’ve been transparent with our package pricing and add-on costs from day 1. If you have any questions about our packages, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
And yes, we offer Hawaii mini-sessions year-round! Maybe you and your partner want a quick photo session to remember your time in Hawaii. Or the idea of photos for nearly an hour makes you feel downright nauseous. I get it! I decided a few years ago to always offer a shorter-length package for those who want to get some gorgeous photos quickly, without the fuss of a longer session if you don’t need one.

It’s no secret that Hawaii can get incredibly busy in the summer during the Holiday months. That means May through August and Thanksgiving through the first week of January – it gets wild around here! What you don’t want to do is wait until the very last minute to book your Hawaii sunset beach portraits. We recommend reaching out to our team to book your session at least 2 months in advance!
Suppose you’re looking to visit the island during a more quiet time and have flexibility in your travel schedule. We strongly recommend October (but watch out for Ironman dates!) and late January through February.
