Here’s a secret. The chaos and the movement that you might be so afraid of are the EXACT thing that make sessions come to life. And if you’re expecting to stand very still, plant a hard smile on your face and pose pose pose during our time together…. well ummm…you’re in for a surprise! 

To get real interactions, real moments, real love on camera I first need to trick and charm you out of your comfort zone. You know the “I hate how I look in photos” and the “I’m so awkward!” zone you’ve talked yourself into it? Yeah, we’re breaking alllll that down.

I seriously hate having my picture taken too but one of my favorite pictures my husband has ever taken of me was after he whispered something – errr…. not PG let’s say – into my hear then starting snapping pics. He totally tricked me! And I didn’t know I what I looked like with a genuine, HUGE smile on my face. I kind of loved it. I didn’t know I was allowed to love myself in photos, you know?

The thing is – LOVE looks great in photos. Love on your face as you are chasing after your sweet baby, realizing that you’ll eventually lose this battle of keeping her dry. Love as you dance with your husband, both of you covered in sand from chasing said baby. Love as you take a deep breath, look at your family not posing, not standing still, not forcing smiles and realizing – oh yeah, this is totally us.
