Maternity Family Photographer Hawaii Vacation – Waikoloa, Hawaii
We had a tea party on the beach together during this session, sipping tea like princesses from our pretend cups, cheersing and giggling. Then she ran over to the water to splash and twirl in her dress. This little girl had the biggest heart and a smile to match. If any picture captures her incredible spirit, this is it for me.
I’m never sure how kids will take to me, a stranger to them in every way, pointing a camera at them. That’s why I like to take it slow and get to know their little personalities. Nothing is more important than making sure they feel comfortable. I give them a chance to help make a few decisions (“would you like to start taking pictures by this tree or on the sand, your choice!”) so they feel like they have a voice and are being seen. I give them space when they need it and have tea parties with them if they ask me. Just another day at work
This family truly embodies the Aloha spirit and I loved every single second of their time together. And now they’ve welcomed a beautiful little boy to their family!! I cannot wait to see them all back in Hawaii soon.
