When I say this session was wild – it was wild.
But here’s the thing. When kids are involved – it always is. And you never ever ever have to apologize for your kid’s behavior at a photo session. I have been doing this for so many years and have seen a LOT. Nothing really surprises me anymore. Actually, the thing that would surprise me would be a perfectly well-behaved toddler who didn’t try to run into the ocean or throw sand, or who knows what. Why? Because kids are kids, and I expect to act like kids. How could I be upset when your kid acts like a kid? That would be insane!
So when it feels like chaos to you and you’re sweating and nervous that we won’t get any good shots, please know that I have your back. I’m not giving up. Yes, even if you’d kids want to run as FAST as they can (omg, kids are so fast how??) into the water and get as dirty as possible – we’re going to get good shots. I may have to honestly tell you that it’s time to let the kids get wet and take the last of our shots as a family in the water if we want to get beautiful moments. And I hope that you’ll trust me. That is exactly what happened at this session when these boys just wanted to get wet. So you know what we did? We let them get wet. And the photos from the end of this session are some of most favorite I’ve ever taken.
