While I absolutely love working with little kids, I love working with families with “grown-up” kids, just as much! It’s less challenging in that I don’t have to worry about your 22-year-old throwing sand in my face – but there are challenges in connecting on a more human level with people closer to my own age (give or take a few years ).
Plus, I think family photos are so important no matter how old or young your crew is. Every year of life is a new season. Kids going off to college, kids starting their new careers, your new life as empty-nesters – these are family milestones that are just as important as those first baby teeth coming in or learning to walk! And of course, we know that no matter how old, they are still your babies, right? Right!
This lovely family met me at one of my favorite little (secret) beaches. Took me weeks of scouting to find this spot and it just feels so perfect, right? Despite the lava rocks and walking through the tide pools to get here, this crew was so down for a fun adventure. And then they showed up – like really, really showed up – for their session. They were all smiles and laughter. So happy to be in Hawaii and be together! We spent most of their session laughing together and I loved every second!
I hope you enjoy these joy-filled images from their Waikoloa family photo session!
