I never intended to have the majority of my client base be people vacationing on the Big Island. That happened by accident. A wonderful, happy accident and I’m so glad it did!
But if we’re being honest, my biggest worry was that this would not leave room for me to build a base of returning, loyal clients. My first full year of business was all new clients. It was amazing, exciting and a bit stressful. As I started in my second year of business I was shocked as a small handful of return client inquiries begun trickling in. It was more than I ever could have hoped for! I know how hard (and pricey!) it can be to bring your family and loved ones to Hawaii on a holiday and I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to have gotten over a dozen return clients in that second year. Now as I move into my third year of full-time business here I an overwhelmed.
Return clients are the best, they already know how I operate so we can just get right into the session like no time has passed at all! Additionally, it’s always fun to see how much the little ones have grown in just a single year!
No joke – I pinch myself almost every day that I’m lucky enough to have a business that allows me to work constantly AND watch families grow. Wedding clients turn into maternity clients who turn into family clients. Families with one beautiful babe, come back a year or two later with two adoring little ones and I love the ebb and flow of life and getting to document yet. A resounding, heartfelt thank you to my return clients who come back to me year and year. I promise to take care of you and always give you the 5-star experience you’ve come to expect from me.
