Planning a Hawaii family photo session while on vacation might sound overwhelming, but with Wilde Sparrow Photography, it’s simple, seamless, and even fun. Our team has spent over a decade refining a process that keeps everything organized, relaxed, and true to you.

We believe that your photo experience should feel as beautiful as your final images. That means clear communication, guidance every step of the way, and an atmosphere that’s playful, never pressured. Here’s what you can expect when you book with our team. From your first message to the moment you open your finished gallery.

Step 1: Inquiry & Booking

Once you reach out through our contact form, you’ll hear back from us within 24 to 48 hours. We take weekends off to enjoy island life with our families, but during the week, our team is quick to respond and ready to help. We value responsiveness.

When you decide to move forward, we secure your date with a 30% non-refundable retainer. Life happens, so if you need to reschedule, that retainer is fully transferable to a new session date with our team within 6 months of your original session date.

After your booking is confirmed, we’ll match you with one of our talented Wilde Sparrow photographers. Each member of our collective has been personally trained and mentored by Aislinn to ensure a consistent editing style and professional quality. If you have a specific photographer in mind, requests can be made at the time of booking, depending on availability.

Step 2: Planning & The Client Lounge

The moment your booking is complete, you’ll get access to our Client Lounge. Think of this as your personal hub for everything you need to prepare. It’s your all-in-one welcome guide. Inside, you’ll find:

• Our exclusive Location Guide featuring permitted beach options across the islands

• A Styling Tool and “What to Wear” guide with outfit inspiration that photographs beautifully in Hawaii’s light

• A detailed Session Prep Checklist

• Advice for weather, parking, and travel logistics

• A handy Sunrise/Sunset calculator to help you plan around your session time

We’ll also help you decide between sunrise and sunset, depending on your location and your family’s schedule. We only photograph during these times for one reason: the light. The sun in Hawaii is powerful, and shooting midday can create harsh shadows and uncomfortable heat. Early mornings and golden evenings give you that warm, dreamy glow you see throughout our portfolio.

Our motto is simple: have a plan, but be ready to go with the flow.

Step 3: Photo Day

Whether your session is 20, 45, or 75 minutes long, our focus is always on capturing genuine connection.

On the session day, we’ll meet you at your chosen beach location and take a few minutes to get everyone settled and comfortable. We’ll guide you gently with prompts and poses that feel natural, while also giving space for candid, unscripted moments to unfold. If you have specific shot requests, we’ll do our best to include them. Our team works intentionally with families and children of all ages, and we’ll take the lead on keeping things lighthearted and relaxed. We know from experience that the best photos happen when you’re simply enjoying time together.

Step 4: Editing & Gallery Delivery

After your session, we get right to work! We don’t offer sneak peeks. Why? After 10 years in business, we’ve learned that skipping previews allows us to focus fully on completing your entire gallery more quickly. All of our editing is done in-house by Aislinn! Yes, she still edits every single image that goes out to clients. There is a real person behind your final gallery and that’s something we value.

Within 10–14 days, you’ll receive an email with your private online gallery. From there, you can:

• Select your favorites to download based on your package

• Upgrade your gallery to include all edited images

• Order professional prints, frames, and albums directly through your gallery. No extra steps required!

Each image you receive is hand-edited in our signature Wilde Sparrow style. We enhance color and remove distractions (like people in the background), but we don’t alter appearances with heavy retouching. We believe in authenticity, not perfection.

FYI: You can expect approximately 1–2 final images per minute of session time, each carefully selected to capture your best moments.

Step 5: Enjoy & Remember

Your family photos are memories of time well spent, preserved for a lifetime. Once your gallery arrives, we encourage you to print and display your images, send them to loved ones, and revisit them often.
