Give me allll the extended family sessions! Truly, I love love love them. Are they hard as heck? YES! And thats what makes them special for me. Because if you know anything about me, you know that I love a good challenge.
My favorite little secret is making it a point to learn everyones names during every session. For real! Even if there are 30 people in your group – I will learn every single name before we say goodbye. I also love figuring out what makes each kid smile, understanding all of the special family dynamics and making people laugh. Its all a part of what makes large family photo sessions so special. I wouldn’t love my work as much as I do if everything came easy. Does that make sense??
Honestly, that first big family session I did (19 people ) was terrifying but then as I was doing it, I surprised myself with how naturally it came and now my heart leaps whenever I get an inquiry with a huge group. Bring your whole family and get ready to dance at sunset together! It’ll be one of the best nights of your trip, pinky promise!
Make sure you don’t miss the sunset at the very end of this session. That is the kind of light I dream about (and hope for at every session!) The sun had been down for nearly 10 minutes but the sky kept getting better and better and better so yeah, I cranked my ISO, had this amazing family squish together and made sure to catch that sky. #worthit
