Tropical Vibes – Big Island Family Photographers
You may notice that these photos don’t look quite like my other work. And you also may notice there are colors and outfits here that move away from what my clients typically wear.
The first thing mom said to me when we met before this session is “I looked at your style guide and I told everyone what it said, but they all wanted to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirts”. And I said “PERFECT!” Because truly, style guides ain’t nothing if it means you show up feeling uncomfortable and out of your element at your session. If it comes down to your most favorite shirt in the WORLD and a shirt that would fit in with my style guide? I’ll be the first to tell you to choose that favorite shirt.
At the end of the day, I’m not here to shoot photographs that fit in with my brand. I’m here to capture your family, authentically. Authentically means just the way you are. In the exact season of life you’re in. Your photos are so not about me, you guys. So it matters less what I want and more what makes your hearts happy.
And honestly, I had so much freaking fun with this family! Not only during our session, but editing as well! I worked hard to make sure these colors popped! It felt like the sunset at the end was just as vibrant and full of life as this family. Everything was absolutely perfect and, ultimately, authentic.
