Maui Family Beach Portraits: Candid vs. Posed (Which Is Right for You?)

Families

August 9, 2025

Every family has their own unique dynamic, and your Maui family beach portraits should reflect that. Some families love classic posed portraits with everyone looking at the camera and smiling – those perfect holiday card shot! Others prefer candid moments: kids splashing in the waves, parents stealing a kiss as the sun sets. The good news? We’ll create both.

During our Wilde Sparrow session, your photographer will guide you into natural poses, then step back to capture the in-between moments that often become favorites. That unplanned hug, your son’s triumphant sandcastle, the way you all laugh when a wave surprises you – these are the memories that truly tell your family’s story. We love to capture it all without sacrificing that perfect Christmas card photo.

When you go through our booking process, we always ask about your photo preferences so we can be sure to tailor your session time to the kind of images you will actually love and cherish. It’s just one way we put our clients first in everything that we do.

Not sure which style suits you best? Be sure to look through our website galleries and blog posts to see how we blend both for perfect variety.
