Lucky for you (and me!), Hawaii is a destination that can be visited year-round. Our tropical climate means temperatures are warm and consistent throughout the year, with average temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to the low 80s. And while you’re here, booking a photo session with our photographers in Kona is a great way to remember your time. Especially if you, like me, always end up being the group photographer. It’s so nice to have a chance to be in the photos yourself!
One of the best times to visit Kona is during the winter months of May through August. This is the perfect time for outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and surfing. One of our favorite activities is zip-lining along the Kohala Coast. While the temperatures may be slightly higher, the island’s cooling trade winds make it comfortable for outdoor activities.
Another great time is between December and March. While it can be rainy this time of year, this is the peak season for whale watching, as humpback whales migrate to the waters around Hawaii to breed and give birth. Visitors can enjoy whale-watching cruises or simply spot them from the shore.
If you plan to visit between September and November, the crowds are smaller, and the weather is still warm and sunny. If you don’t have to worry about school or work schedules, this is an amazing time to visit any Hawaiian island. You can enjoy the island’s many outdoor activities without the crowds and may even find better deals on accommodations and activities.
