Two months in to this new California life of mine. I’ve lived in a lot of places, so maybe I’m just getting better at settling in? Not sure – but the transition has been easy! Easier than I even thought a move to a new city could be. Not to say it’s been all lollipops and fairytales – there are hard days for sure – but the good ones outnumber them by a mile :).
I have been so focused on getting the apartment in order and finding some kind of daily routine that feels comfortable that I let the hard work of getting Wilde Sparrow up and running in Bakersfield slip a little. That being said – things are happening! Slowly, but I’ll take it! I booked a second shooter gig in San Luis Obispo in a few weeks and can’t wait! I’m also on the hunt for 3 fabulous Southern California brides for a heavily discounted engagement session ($100!). I did this in both New York and Chicago to help me get up and running and it worked out excellently both times.
And until then, I’m loving taking my camera with me everywhere and doing my best to capture the beauty of Bakersfield and SoCal whenever I can!
Grapefruit from Papa’s backyard. My sweetie painted that red fence for his grandparents many years ago. Absolutely in love with the fruit trees at their house.
Taken on a recent day trip to Paso Robles. A stunning, stunning place.
When we got to Pear Valley Vineyards, they were setting up for a wedding. I could not get over how beautiful this venue was! This tree is incredible!! There are chairs set up beneath the shade of the tree. A wonderful place for a wedding ceremony.
More from Pear Valley Vineyards. Off the main road, it’s a quick (but slow! Dust hurts the vines) drive to the tasting room. There are vines on all sides. Words and pictures can’t do this place justice.
One of those California sunsets that I can’t quite stop taking pictures of. This was taken, believe it or not, in a Costco parking lot. Beauty everywhere!
